In the 1950s, the company also developed consumer electronics. After World War II, being part of the Bosch Blaupunkt concern, it moved its headquarters and production to Hildesheim. In 1932 Blaupunkt launched the first AS 5 model in the world, and by 1959 it had already sold one million receivers of this type. Car radios became the company’s key product. Soon, customers only asked about headphones marked in this way and that is why in 1938 the blue dot (in German Blaupunkt) became the symbol of the brand and the official name of the company. Headphones with particularly good sound transmission capability were marked with a blue dot – a sign of quality control. The factory was located in Bollersdorf near Berlin, where headphones and crystal receivers were produced. Fully revitalised.īlaupunkt was founded in November 1923 under the name Ideal Radiotelefon- & Apparatefabrik.
